About Me
Hey! I’m Phalon. I’m 42 years old, a writer, a lifelong TV watcher, a fan of stories that just never go away, and I have reached that horrible age where you rewatch old favorites and realize the world you remember in fiction does not look the same as an adult.
That’s what Phalon Talks is about.
I grew up loving shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Charmed, Highlander: The Series, and other millennial shows. When I was younger, I felt all those big feelings, picked my favorites, had opinions, and carried those stories with me. But now, in my 40s, watching them does not quite hit the same way.
I still love those shows, but I am not the same person I was 20 or even 30 years ago.
Here, I write about television, nostalgia, characters, storylines, how age can change perspective, and yes, even some reviews. Sometimes that means talking about old shows with new eyes. Sometimes that means looking at romance tropes, messy characters, bad decisions, emotional damage, and why certain stories stay with us long after the credits roll.
I also write about life, creativity, home, practical things, and the lessons that come from simply living long enough to know better than you used to. My work has appeared in a Poetry.com anthology, and I have published books on Amazon, including fill-in books for pantry planning, organization, and everyday use.
So this site is a little bit fandom, a little bit life experience, a little bit writing desk, and a little bit “pull up a chair, I have thoughts.”
You may find TV reviews here. You may find essays about characters. You may find practical reflections about getting older, creating things, and learning from the past. You may also find me admitting that yes, I once had one opinion about a character and now have a completely different one.
That is part of the fun.
Same shows. Different me. Better understanding.
Welcome!
